The Dickinson girls’ swim team has been dominating the competition all season against the likes of McKean, Brandywine and Glasgow. The team already made history this year at the tri-meet when the team lost only one out of 11 races and came out as first for the meet. This has not been done in the recorded history of Dickinson swimming.

Ninth grader swimmer Kierra Gaskins, attributed some of the team’s success to their unusual training methods. “McKean’s team method, which we have adopted, is a very unusual method of tapping us with kick boards so we’ll keep our legs moving during training.” She also talked about how she feels the tri-meets, three different teams simultaneously competing, will be the toughest meets this season. Regarding her feelings for the rest of the season, she feels strongly about the team’s abilities.
The Rams swim team did an excellent job during their recent tri-meet against Saint Elizabeth’s and Christiana. According to Head Coach Ms. Sheehy, 8th graders Maggie Daly, Rachel Tims, Sarah Dilworth, 9th grader Alexis Everett, 10th graders Lydia Todd, Kationna Delgado, and 12th grader Rebecca Manthorpe all paced first in their individual events. Meanwhile, Delgado, and 11th graders Meghan Leach, and Joelle Wilkins defeated the Christiana team in the 200 Freestyle relay team . The Girls are the Blue Hen Conference Champions for Flight B, and competed Saturday, February 4 at the Blue Hen Conference Championships.
